Der Klassiker takes centre stage in this weekend’s Bundesliga and both Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund could be in low mood ahead of their clash at the Allianz Arena.

While Bayern lost 2-1 at home to Inter in their Champions League quarter-final on Tuesday, Borussia Dortmund were thrashed 4-0 by Barcelona the following day.

And while Dortmund are the ones with the mountain to climb next week, it is hard to get behind either of these sides and goals could instead be the way to go.

Expect goals at the Allianz Arena

Bayern will again be missing creative threat Jamal Musiala but they still have goals in the team with Harry Kane leading the line and Thomas Muller preparing for his final appearance in Der Klassiker.

And Bayern have been involved in some pulsating affairs this season with their Bundesliga matches averaging 3.86 goals per game.

Over 3.5 goals could therefore be the way to play it, having clicked in each of Dortmund’s last three fixtures.

It has been an underwhelming season for Dortmund but domestically they have started to show promise under Niko Kovac and they carry a serious threat in 15-goal forward Serhou Guirassy.

This could be a high-scoring one but it could also be close and 2-2 therefore appeals in the correct score market.
